Details, Details, and More Details

What goes behind launching our Northwest Passive Panel (NWPP)? A lot of work in the details. There are a million ways to build wrong, and a handful of ways to do it right. So, how do we make sure we provide a high-quality product? Keen attention to detail from the design to manufacturing phase, as well as independent third-party verification.

First, in our design process, we consider the climate we live in – The Pacific Northwest – to ensure that the PNPP is built to optimize energy efficiency, comfort, and longevity. We also ensure that our assembly and connections between them have continuous water, air, vapor, thermal, and pest management in place. Being intentional in the design and implementation means that unlike code-framed houses, the NWPP is thermal bridge free, and avoids issues with condensation, and water and air intrusion.

The second part of launching our product is seeking independent component certification through the Passive House Institute US (PHIUS), which is involved in developing Passive House, the world’s highest energy efficiency building standard.

Going through PHIUS’s building component certification process allows our product to be readily available to high performance builders and designers in our region and streamlines access to technical information that is necessary for Passive House projects. Their third-party certification also ensures that we deliver the stellar performance and longevity targets we promise.

Stay tuned to hear more about this process as we move forward!
